Constellation Shower Invitations

13 Aug

One of my favorite people in the world is getting married in September! I'm extremely honored to be one of Angela's bridesmaids and bridal shower hostesses. Angela was a bridesmaid in my wedding, as well, and though she wasn't a confident paper-cutter (my invitations were admittedly intense), she was a great cupcake-decorator and source of comic relief! [...]

Blue and Yellow Dessert Table

You may remember me mentioning that my brother's lovely Oregon wedding was a small one. And by small, I mean a dozen guests. It was a very sweet ceremony and just the way they wanted it. [...]

Burlap Favor Bags

Hi, my name is Jennifer, and I'm not addicted to coffee. [...]

Blue and Yellow Wedding

9 Sep

My family had a jam-packed (literally! marionberry jam.) and fabulous holiday weekend, celebrating as my brother, Jason, married his love, Michela! Their intimate wedding ceremony took place on the Oregon coast followed by pizza, kite-flying and a beach bonfire. They were just so cute and sweet and happy. [...]

Ornament Bud Vase

26 Aug

In stores this month, school supplies are on their way out and Christmas decorations are on their way in. I'm finding it particularly shocking this year, as today's temperature hit 107 and there's still a month before Greg goes back to school! [...]

Branch Centerpieces

11 Jun

I love the look of big, branchy arrangements, whether they're covered with flowers, dripping with crystals or pinned full of photos and well-wishes. For our reception, I created my own branch arrangements and surrounded them with luscious floating peonies and plenty of candles, all for less than $20 per table! (See cost breakdown at the end of the post.) The trick to our centerpieces was the flowers — rather than buying flowering branches that would need arranging on our wedding day, I used alstromeria and brown floral tape on run-of-the-mill sticks. The branches were positioned in advance and, when the big day arrived, my aunt just taped fresh flowers in place. [...]

Bridesmaid Bouquets

9 Jun

The inspiration for my bridesmaids' bouquets was the one I carried in my best friend's wedding. I was more than inspired, actually; I completely copied it. I loved her sleek and gorgeous coral bouquets and so, when it was my turn to get married, I looked up her florist. [...]

Invitation Pockets

4 Jun

Back when Greg and I were planning our wedding (and crazy), we decided to save the extra $2 per invitation and make 175 pockets from scrapbook paper... ourselves. Pre-made sets didn't come in the color we wanted and we're all for cutting corners (and corners and more corners). [...]

Dressed-up Dress Shoes

26 May

My shoe hunt (like all my wedding-planning hunts) was a long one. I wanted shoes to match all the fuchsia in our wedding (actually, any shade of dark pink, magenta, just something bright). I was looking for low heels, gorgeous and reasonably-priced. I was out of luck. [...]

Cupcakes: Frosted and Flowered

21 May

Greg and I ruled out a standard wedding cake pretty early in the planning process — they are often bland and usually expensive. Besides, we were having a dessert reception! We did think that having a cupcake tower would be a fun way to serve people the expected treat and to incorporate our wedding colors into a sweet focal point. So, my dad kindly made the tower and we set about finding delicious cupcakes. [...]
